I dislike most of the people in the TV Production program. Not in my specific class, but in both the older and younger TV classes. And, of course, today served as a reminder of both this dislike of both them, and an annoyance of my teacher. The last few days our class started running the daily school news, and we've been experimenting with more interesting ways of filming it, because frankly, the news as it and as it's run by the TV 3 and 4 classes is incredibly boring, and nobody cares about it. Today when I came into class, however, my teacher told us that we'd have to do the news straight from now on, as he didn't like how the other, more exciting versions came out. We therefore did what he asked, and made the news as monotone and boring as we could today. I'm not sure how Mr. Schwartz will react, but it had to be done.
The other thing that occurred in TV Prod which served to increase my ire was a continuation of events that started wednesday. Wednesday was the VPA recital, and it was one of the worst I have been to during the two years at my school. One of the worst additions to the recital was by my very own magnet, a horribly boring, horribly edited, and horribly received film on the TV Production Class Of 2009, and was simply questions about the program asked by the juniors to other TV Production juniors. To avoid falling asleep during the showing of it, Ben, Mike Patti, and I came up for an idea of a spoof of it, which would be funnier, more interesting, and better filmed than the shitfest that was the Class Of 09 video. I won't even begin to talk about the other two films we showed, another generic slow-and-uninteresting music video to a bad song starring a senior in the program and her butt-ugly boyfriend (And to think, she submitted ten of her videos to the upcoming film festival. I'll have a good nap while they play), and a well-edited but typically stupid video by another junior or senior, and their never-ending supply of dumb short films. Back to my main point, I told my teacher of our idea for a spoof of that video, and he vetoed it, saying people would be offended because they worked hard on it. The irony of the situation was lost on Mr. Schwartz, that every day in the recent past he's overlooked some kids in my class as they added their own dialogue to a stop-action animation this weird kid in another class did, effectively creating a parody of it. Inconsistancies in this program are abundant, and I'm fed up with it. Screw it, I'm still going to film my parody, it just won't be shown at the next VPA recital, where it would be the best received.
My frustration didn't abate with the conclusion of TV Production, however, as my next period was Chemistry, where I have to deal every day with an incredibly flirtatious "friend" of mine consistantly whoring the attentions of my friends in that class. I use the term "friend" loosely in his case, as I don't much care for the kid. I realize that the two other friends I talk to in that class most likely enjoy him more than me, and I probably have come off as depressed or antisocial in that class the past two or three weeks, but I'm tired of trying to get a word in edgewise to them. Flirting between the three of them is at ridiculous levels, and while I don't hold anything against the two girls (aside from them not seeming to mind him at all), I'm done with the one guy. Luckily, I've got other people I can talk to in that class, but it is a bit sad to be slowly edged out of a group.
My day more or less improved after that, algebra 2 was algebra 2, lunch was wonderful as always, and ap world history was fun, fooling around in the back of the class with jeff and kelli and justine and carina. I'll hopefully be seeing a movie tonight, not one that I'm particularly excited about, but I'll be with friends. I downloaded the episode of Lost from last night, which was one of the best episodes of the entire series. And tomorrow is a new day.
